- Are 13 years or older

- Can commit to around one hour per week

- Are reliable, patient and most importantly respectful

NOTE: Previous teaching or tutoring experience is not required.

What We Provide

- Optional PowerPoints and activities (in resources folder)

- Session coordination (we will provide necessary meeting details such as Google Meet links)

Expectations for Volunteers

As a MentorHub volunteer, you are expected to:

- Be consistent - commit around 1 hour per week and make an effort to attend sessions regularly

- Come prepared - think of conversation topics, activities or questions (our resource folder can help with this) to make each session engaging

- Be supportive - encourage your learner and create a comfortable space to help them practise English

- Be adaptable - get to know your learners interests and adjust sessions to whatever works best for them

Your Volunteer Journey

Step 3: Get matched and begin conversations

Once approved, we will match you with a learner based on factors previously mentioned. This allows you to begin regular online sessions with your mentee through Google Meet using resources provided by MentorHub.

Step 2: Application review and Interview

After reviewing your application, our team will contact you for a short informal conversation to learn more about your interests, availability and experience. This ensures you can be matched with a suitable learner with similar interests.

Step 1: Apply

Complete the short volunteer application form and ensure you have read and agreed to our Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy.
